who we are

We created ValveShield to solve a costly and frustrating problem: debris-clogged valve castings that prevent timely, easy access to valves. Our founder, D. Scott Hart is an engineer and water industry professional who experienced these frustrations firsthand. He knows the struggles workers face trying to find unclogged valves and shut off water promptly because he has faced those same struggles in the field. He also knows the costs associated with debris-clogged valves.

Recognizing that the water industry hasn’t changed much over the decades, Hart decided to take action. He set out to find a better way, and ValveShield was born. We created our first prototype on a 3D printer and fine-tuned the design.

Today, ValveShield’s patent-pending design is used by municipalities across the United States, shielding valves from dirt, mud, and debris and helping crews work more productively.
